The TeleVisit must be scheduled in advance with our office, just as you would schedule a regular in-office visit.
You will receive two emails from “Family Medicine East” – one is a Confirmation of the appointment, the other is a Reminder. The Confirmation contains a link that will start the TeleVisit at the scheduled time. Please save this email until your appointment time.
Starting the TeleVisit
Ten minutes before the appointment, a nurse from our office will contact you to gather information for your TeleVisit with the provider.
When the nurse has completed gathering the information from you, she will instruct you to click on the link to the TeleVisit in the Confirmation email discussed above.
The TeleVisit will be started and the “Vitals” screen will be displayed– you do not need to make any entries on this page - click on the “Next” button at the bottom of the page to continue.
The program will perform a “Compatibility Check” to make sure your computer is able to do the TeleVisit – when it is complete, click on the “Proceed” button.
On the next screen, click on the “Start TeleVisit” button.
You will see a screen with “Waiting for <your provider name> to join …”. At this point, your provider has been notified that you have arrived in the “Virtual Waiting Room” and are ready for your appointment. The provider will review your vitals and medical records, and then start the TeleVisit – at this point, the provider will appear on the screen and you will be displayed in a smaller screen at the bottom.
When the TeleVisit is over, the provider will end the visit, and it will be completed.
